Pre-launch · First cohort Q3 2026

The first training platform built for athletes who do both.

Strength and endurance generate different kinds of fatigue. Most platforms only measure one. Hybrid Athlete measures both — and how they interfere — so you can train hard without overreaching.

The Problem

Built for a sport that has no rulebook yet.

Running platforms give you TRIMP. Lifting platforms give you tonnage. Neither tells you what happens when you squat 160 kg on Wednesday and run 5×1000m on Friday.

The hybrid athlete — the runner who lifts, the lifter who runs, the triathlete who deadlifts — has no integrated way to measure their training load. So they guess. They overtrain. They lose strength chasing endurance, or stall their 5K chasing PRs in the gym.

We're building the platform that closes that gap.

The Product

One score. Both modalities. Every day.

At the core of Hybrid Athlete is the HDSS — Hybrid Daily Stress Score. A single daily metric that combines everything that matters.

RSS
Run Stress Score

Modified Banister TRIMP using heart rate reserve and per-zone weighting factors.

duration × HR_ratio × zone_weight
LSS
Lift Stress Score

Per-set calculation using reps, load, movement-specific coefficients, and RPE modifiers.

Σ reps × load × coeff × rpe_mod
INT
Interference Modifier

Adjusts for session order, time between sessions, and lower/upper body overlap with running.

order × time_gap × overlap

Combined daily score
ACWR
7-day HDSS / 28-day HDSS

Acute:Chronic Workload Ratio — tells you if you're building, peaking, or heading toward injury.

Garmin-Native

Run sessions sync automatically. Heart rate zones, cadence, pace — all flowing into your daily score without manual entry.

Per-Set Honesty

Every set logged with weight, reps, and RPE. No session-level shortcuts. Your fatigue model is only as good as your data.

Built on Science

Every coefficient is documented, versioned, and validated. Your historical scores never silently change when the model improves.

Research-backed · Thesis-anchored

The platform is the data collection tool. The thesis is the validation layer.

Hybrid Athlete is the foundation of an active Bachelor's thesis at MCI Innsbruck — Medizin-, Gesundheits- & Sporttechnologie — supervised by Jasper Volmer.

The thesis, "Integrierter Belastungsscore für Hybrid-Athleten," directly addresses the modeling of combined strength and endurance load for digital training control.

This isn't a side project dressed up as a startup. The two were designed together from day one.

Early Access

Want in?

We're opening early access in waves to athletes who train both modalities seriously. Runner who lifts heavy, lifter who races, triathlete with a deadlift PR — we want you in the first cohort.
